Almanac Hotels is a family-owned collection founded by Austrian entrepreneur Herbert Haselbacher and his daughter Tina. Its three current hotels occupy central, historically layered addresses rather than resort settings. Almanac Barcelona opened in 2017 on Gran Via and established the collection's combination of warm contemporary design, local art, and neighbourhood-facing food and drink. Almanac Palais Vienna opened in 2023 after two 1870s buildings opposite Stadtpark were restored and joined. Almanac X Alcron Prague, also relaunched in 2023, renews a landmark hotel founded by Alois Krofta in 1932 near Wenceslas Square. The properties are deliberately individual: Vienna has the deepest spa, Barcelona adds a rooftop pool and Mediterranean social rhythm, and Prague preserves the strongest Art Deco inheritance. Almanac joined GHA DISCOVERY in 2026, providing a points-like hotel currency and tier recognition across the collection. A GHA summary mentions Zagreb, but Almanac's current official destinations and booking directory list only Vienna, Barcelona, and Prague, so this portfolio count remains three.

How it works
Join GHA DISCOVERY without charge and attach the membership to an eligible direct reservation. Qualifying room and on-property purchases earn DISCOVERY Dollars at the member tier rate, currently advertised by Almanac as up to 7 percent. One D$ is denominated as one US dollar under the programme rules and can be applied to eligible hotel charges and experiences. Silver membership begins at enrolment, while Gold, Platinum, and Titanium use current GHA qualification thresholds. Recognition such as upgrades, early arrival, and late departure depends on tier and availability. Compare the direct member rate, expected D$ return, and status benefits with any qualified luxury-advisor package.
