Capella began with Horst Schulze’s service-led vision and has evolved under Capella Hotel Group into a small portfolio of intensely individual urban hotels and resorts. Each property is built around “The Craft of The Culturist”: local hosts who curate an itinerary and help the guest move beyond generic luxury-hotel recommendations. The group’s hotels range from Ubud rainforest tents to Shanghai shikumen villas and a low-rise Bangkok riverfront retreat, but share substantial design authorship and high service ratios.
