The Sukhothai Bangkok opened in 1991 and gives the collection its defining name, drawn from Thailand's first capital and translated as dawn of happiness. The current official portfolio contains three operating hotels: low-rise pavilions and gardens in Bangkok, a Neri&Hu-designed urban retreat in Shanghai, and Auberge Discovery Bay on Hong Kong's Lantau Island. Each is deliberately individual rather than a repeated house style. Bangkok uses lotus ponds, teak, silk, and broad garden courts. Shanghai combines natural stone, wood, art, and sustainability measures in the Jing'an district. Auberge turns toward the sea and mountains, with 322 rooms and suites outside Hong Kong's dense centre. The official GHA DISCOVERY brand page currently names Bangkok and Shanghai as participating properties. It does not identify Auberge Discovery Bay, so loyalty eligibility there should be confirmed rather than assumed.

The Sukhothai DISCOVERY connects participating hotels to GHA DISCOVERY. Members can access eligible member rates, earn DISCOVERY Dollars, and redeem D$ against participating hotel charges and experiences.
How it works
Join GHA DISCOVERY without charge and attach the membership to an eligible booking at a participating Sukhothai hotel. Eligible room and hotel purchases earn a percentage back in DISCOVERY Dollars according to membership tier. D$ can be spent at participating properties, with one D$ denominated as one US dollar under current programme rules. Silver membership begins at enrolment, while higher tiers use qualifying stays, nights, spend, or brand activity. The official GHA page currently identifies The Sukhothai Bangkok and The Sukhothai Shanghai. Auberge Discovery Bay appears in the hotel group’s own directory but not on that GHA brand page, so confirm its participation before relying on earning or benefits.

The official GHA page names Bangkok and Shanghai as participating Sukhothai properties. It does not currently list Auberge Discovery Bay Hong Kong.
