The Little Nell's Next Ski Season Comes Before a Longer Closure
The Little Nell plans an April 2027 closure through early summer 2028. Its final winter before renovation brings visiting bartenders and spa residencies.
The Little Nell is preparing for a longer break than its original renovation announcement suggested. In its October 15 winter update, the Aspen hotel says its closure will begin in April 2027 and run through early summer 2028, putting the 2026-2027 ski season before an extended absence from the slopes.
Which reopening timeline should guests use?
The latest announcement from Aspen One points to early summer 2028. That supersedes the winter 2027-2028 return described in the company's July brand announcement. The October release itself describes the previous target differently, as early winter 2028, so the published history is not entirely consistent.
The practical message is clearer: travelers should not plan on a hotel stay during the 2027-2028 ski season without a new, explicit confirmation from the property. Neither announcement gives an exact reopening day. A season or month is not a reservation guarantee, especially when flights and holiday arrangements depend on it.
July's statement said the renovation would cover guest rooms, public spaces and dining. It also said the Residences at The Little Nell would continue accepting bookings and that the Wedding Deck would remain available for events. Those are separate arrangements worth reconfirming directly for the longer closure period.
What is happening during the winter before the work?
The hotel has set Sydney cocktail bar Maybe Sammy's Wine Bar residency for January 22 through March 30, 2027. Facialist Georgia Louise is also returning for selected residencies, alongside treatments delivered by the hotel's trained estheticians. The announcement does not publish every appointment date.
For guests choosing between an early festive stay and a later ski trip, that distinction matters. Booking a room does not itself secure a visiting practitioner or a particular event. Ask for the relevant calendar before choosing travel dates around a residency.
Where can visitors confirm the details?
The hotel's events calendar is the starting point for programming in Aspen. Ask reservations to confirm event access, separate charges and cancellation terms in writing. For a stay tied to the hotel's return, request the operating dates and available facilities together, rather than relying on the earlier reopening headline.
