Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur Refreshes Apartments With a Useful Family Detail
Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur relaunches 51 serviced apartments with kitchens and washer-dryers. Sizes, views and rates need a closer look before booking.
Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur has announced the relaunch of 51 renovated serviced apartments, with an everyday convenience that can matter more than another decorative upgrade: kitchens equipped with combined washer-dryers. The October 20 announcement covers apartments on floors four to eight, designed for both short visits and extended stays.
For families travelling with children, or anyone combining work with a longer city break, that changes the comparison with a conventional hotel room. The useful question is whether the extra space and household facilities justify the apartment quote for the actual length of your visit.
How much space can guests expect?
The announcement lists one-, two- and three-bedroom layouts across a range of 75 to 190 square metres. Starting sizes are 75 square metres for one bedroom, 123 for two and 152 for three. Separate sitting and dining areas accompany the kitchen, while bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms.
These are category starting points, so ask for the floor plan of the apartment being quoted. A family should check bed arrangements, maximum occupancy and any extra-bed charge, then decide whether the living area works for meals, children's bedtimes or a quiet place to take a call.
Does every apartment overlook the Twin Towers?
No single view should be assumed. The hotel describes city, KLCC Park and Petronas Twin Towers outlooks depending on the apartment. Its accommodation page separately advises guests to specify their preferred view when booking.
The location places the hotel beside the towers and the park in Kuala Lumpur. That setting may be the deciding factor for guests planning their days around this part of the city, but a category name and a written view confirmation are more useful than a general skyline photograph.
What should go into the rate comparison?
The relaunch announcement gives rates on request, tailored to apartment type and stay length. Ask for a total covering your dates and party, with the cancellation terms, meal inclusions and any household services clearly itemised. The official accommodation FAQ still highlights two- and three-bedroom apartments; request explicit confirmation if you want the newly announced one-bedroom option.
Before choosing, compare that written offer with the rooms or suites you would otherwise need. Laundry facilities can be valuable on a long trip, but breakfast, housekeeping arrangements and flexibility can change which option offers the better fit.
