Book it if you want baroque drama, a sense of the building's religious past, and public spaces that feel like a museum you are allowed to sleep in. Oxygen-enriched rooms matter here. Ask for them if altitude has ever been a problem.

Palacio Nazarenas sits across the same square as an all-suite convent conversion with butler service, a quieter contemporary-luxury tone, and the heated outdoor pool that Monasterio does not offer in the same way. Book it if suite calm, a swim after the Sacred Valley, and a less seminary energy matter more than cloister theatre.

Many Cusco itineraries benefit from one night in each, especially if you are staging for Machu Picchu. Monasterio for arrival night and atmosphere; Nazarenas once you want the pool. Both are heritage conversions, not generic five-stars. Compare them on vibe, not on a star rating.
