The Kimberley, Australia
El Questro Homestead: A ten-suite, adults-only all-inclusive gorge lodge within El Questro Wilderness Park.
El Questro Homestead is the adults-only, ten-suite lodge inside El Questro Wilderness Park in the East Kimberley. It is a small operation at the top of Chamberlain Gorge, not a conventional resort: the official inventory is four Homestead Rooms, two Gorgeview Rooms, three Cliffside Retreats and one Chamberlain Suite, with a maximum of 20 guests. It is the right choice for a remote Kimberley stay with a planned daily rhythm; it is not a wet-season, family or treatment-spa hotel.
Choose the room with care. Homestead Rooms look across lawns and gardens, rather than the gorge. Gorgeview Rooms sit above Chamberlain Gorge with a private deck and an indoor/outdoor stone bath. Cliffside Retreats are freestanding at the escarpment edge, with either an outdoor shower or freestanding bath, while the one Chamberlain Suite cantilevers over the gorge with a wraparound veranda, outdoor dining area and double bath. The house does not publish floor areas, accessible-room designations, connecting-room arrangements or private pools for those categories; each uses the shared Homestead pool.
The tariff is genuinely all-inclusive: daily breakfast, lunch and dinner; selected non-alcoholic drinks, wine, beer, basic spirits and in-room minibar; the visitor permit; and specified Homestead experiences. The published experience list includes a Chamberlain Gorge cruise, Bush Nature & Natives Tour, Buddy’s Point sunset, guided gorge walks, an afternoon at Zebedee Thermal Springs and Injiid Marlabu Calls Us; the reservations team calls after online booking to build the itinerary. Air touring, specialty/private touring and Cellar Master wines are extra. Do not call transfers included: they must be arranged ahead and are handled separately in the booking terms.
Meals follow the house rather than fixed venue hours. Breakfast and lunch are served on the veranda; the daily changing three-course dinner is communal under an awning. There is no named restaurant, published timetable or live spa/wellness page. Zebedee is a natural thermal-springs experience, with exclusive Homestead use each afternoon but no exact afternoon hours published; it is not a substitute for a treatment menu. The Homestead is adults-only, and the binding terms say it may only be occupied by people over 18, so confirm the boundary rather than assuming an 18-year-old is accepted.
Book for a tightly capped, activity-led escape and reserve the gorge-facing category if that view matters. Skip it if you want a child-friendly lodge, flexible unscheduled dining, a guaranteed spa treatment, a wet-season stay, or easy access without planning. Retained traveler scores are strong, but the distinction between lawn-facing and gorge-facing rooms, and the cost of air/private touring outside the tariff, are practical booking considerations.

First day
- Arrange the arrival transfer or self-drive plan in advance; a high-clearance 4WD is recommended for the final approach, and transfers are not a listed Homestead inclusion.
- Tell reservations which included experiences matter and reserve any air or private touring, since the itinerary is built after the booking call.
- Book the actual room category early if a gorge view or bath is the point; Homestead Rooms are lawn-facing, unlike Gorgeview, Cliffside and Chamberlain categories.

Guests Warn
Room-position expectations
The official distinction is important: Homestead Rooms face lawn and gardens, while the other categories carry the gorge relationship many guests expect.
Remote logistics
The property requires advance transport and itinerary planning, and selected extras such as air/private touring sit outside the all-inclusive tariff.
The overall score is a review-count-weighted average of named public platforms, normalized to /10. Category scores — including cleanliness and location — are Hotel Flock editorial readings of those reviews, not a platform's private formula. In the stay
- Daily breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus selected non-alcoholic drinks, wine, beer, basic spirits and the in-room minibar.
- The El Questro Visitor Permit and the six listed Homestead experience groups, subject to seasonal operation and itinerary planning.
- Shared Homestead pool access, public-area Wi-Fi and the accommodation-card beverage selection.
Usually extra
- –Cellar Master wines, air tours and specialty/private touring are explicitly extra.
- –Transfers must be arranged before arrival and are treated as a separate pre-booked component in the terms.
Good to Know
- Check-in is 14:00 and check-out is 10:00 unless agreed otherwise in writing.
- The lodge is adults-only; its binding terms use ‘over the age of 18,’ so confirm directly for an 18-year-old.
- Homestead Rooms are garden/lawn-facing. Gorgeview, Cliffside and Chamberlain categories each have distinct gorge relationships.
- Breakfast and lunch are on the veranda, and dinner is a communal table; no meal hours are published.
- Homestead guests have exclusive Zebedee Thermal Springs use each afternoon, but the current site does not publish the exact afternoon time.
Editor's Note
The all-inclusive line is substantial, but it does not include transfers, air touring, specialty/private touring or the Cellar Master list. Book Cliffside or Chamberlain—not simply ‘a suite’—if the gorge is essential.
