Explora Rapa Nui Rooms & Suites

Explora Rapa Nui has exactly two official accommodation categories: 26 Varúa Rooms and four Raa Suites. Both have natural-wood interiors, a king-or-two-twin setup, heating, air conditioning, a jetted bathtub, hair dryer, separate WC, wake-up service, and non-smoking status. The detailed room page calls both sea-view rooms, while the current lodge page describes garden and ocean views; guests should confirm the outlook of the assigned room. Bed type should be selected at booking because later changes depend on availability. Both current cards print occupancy for two and allow a crib subject to availability. Only the Raa Suite supports the Rapa Nui family offer's conditional extra bed for a child aged 2–12; that exception should not be read as a universal maximum-occupancy statement.

Before you book a room

  • There are two official categories only: 26 Varúa Rooms and four Raa Suites.
  • Official view wording conflicts: the detailed room page says sea view for both categories, while the current lodge page says garden and ocean views.
  • Choose king or two twins at booking; a later bed-type change is subject to availability. Do not convert the official twin wording to double beds.
  • Both current cards print occupancy for two. A crib may be requested in either category, while the age-2–12 extra bed is limited to the Raa Suite and remains subject to availability.
  • Under-2s may stay in the parents' room under the family offer. Ages 13–17 use an additional room under separate family terms rather than the Suite extra bed.
  • Phone calls and laundry are excluded. No room page publishes connecting rooms, accessible-room details, terraces, balconies, or a broader maximum occupancy.

The 26 Varúa Rooms measure 32 square metres / 345 square feet and offer a king bed or two twins, selected at booking. The detailed room page says sea view, while the current lodge page says garden and ocean views. Each card prints occupancy for two, and a crib is subject to availability. Rapa Nui's family terms do not permit the age-2–12 extra bed in this category; that bed is Suite-only. No balcony, terrace, connecting-room option, accessible layout, pool, or broader maximum occupancy is published.

Explora Rapa Nui rooms FAQ

How many room categories does Explora Rapa Nui have?
Two: 26 Varúa Rooms and four Raa Suites. Both categories are shown as expanded cards on the official rooms page.
What is the difference between a Varúa Room and a Raa Suite?
Varúa measures 32 square metres, while Raa measures 44. The Suite is also the only Rapa Nui category eligible for the conditional age-2–12 extra bed.
Do the rooms have sea views or garden views?
Official pages disagree: the detailed room page says sea view for both, while the current lodge page says garden and ocean views. Confirm the assigned outlook.
Can families add an extra bed?
One limited-stock extra bed may be requested only in a Raa Suite for a child aged 2–12 under the family offer. It is not available in Varúa Rooms.
Can guests choose a king bed or twin beds?
Yes. Both categories offer a king or two twins, but the choice should be made at booking because later changes depend on availability.
Do the official pages publish accessible or connecting rooms?
No connecting-room arrangement, accessible-room specification, elevator, or step-free route is published. Ask the lodge directly if any is essential.
