Fairmont New Orleans Opens Bookings Ahead of Its November 2 Debut
Fairmont New Orleans opens reservations for its 2 November 2026 debut, returning the Accor luxury brand to the Crescent City after two decades away.
Fairmont is taking reservations for stays from 2 November 2026 at Fairmont New Orleans, the brand's return to New Orleans after two decades and its 19th hotel in the United States. The property occupies 17 stories of the former Bank of New Orleans building in the Central Business District, a short walk from the French Quarter and Caesars Superdome, and was developed by Kailas Companies inside a 31-story landmark originally designed in 1970 by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill.
For guests, the booking window matters more than the press date. If you want Fairmont Gold, a Mississippi-facing suite, or a weekend that coincides with a Saints home game, inventory is live now rather than after the ribbon is cut. Fairmont positions the house as both a refined overnight stay and a gathering place for the city, echoing the social-lobby role it plays at addresses such as The Plaza and The Savoy.
What is inside the 250-key house
The hotel will open with 250 guest rooms and suites, Fairmont Gold as a hotel-within-a-hotel tier, more than 19,000 square feet of meeting space, and a roughly 10,000-square-foot spa with city views, three treatment rooms, a couples suite, dry sauna, steam room and fitness studio. Rockwell Group designed the interiors around New Orleans' contrast between built and natural environments: structured lines softened by saturated color, layered textures and organic references.
Food and drink are anchored by a partnership with Chef Emeril Lagasse and his team, including Delmonico Steakhouse in the lobby with a 1970s-inspired look. Upstairs, the rooftop pool and lounge are pitched as the highest in the city with Mississippi River views, joined by Third Measure, an intimate rooftop bar, and Bleu Perdu, a poolside lounge. The lobby itself is planned as a social anchor with a central Lobby Bar rather than a pass-through arrival hall.
Why the building and the date matter
Kailas Companies is restoring a local landmark rather than starting from a greenfield site, and the ballrooms retain historic cypress ceilings from the bank era with Italian-inspired chandeliers. Two 4,000-square-foot ballrooms, six meeting rooms and an executive boardroom target weddings and groups from 10 to 500. General Manager Eric Overstreet has framed the hotel as a celebration headquarters for the city, which is useful context if you are comparing it with Four Seasons Hotel New Orleans or The Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans for a fall or winter trip.
Further design reveals are still coming before opening day. For now, the actionable news is simple: rooms from 2 November are bookable on Fairmont's site, Accor's ALL loyalty program will apply, and guests who care about Gold floors, rooftop pool timing or Emeril reservations should lock dates while the calendar is still relatively open.
