Fouquet's Gstaad Sets a December Debut With a Bigger Private Option
Fouquet's Gstaad opens December 4 with suites, apartments and a nine-bedroom chalet. The former Ultima address also adds a Zuma pop-up for winter.
Fouquet's will open in Gstaad on December 4, 2026, taking over an Alpine address originally developed by Ultima Group. The accommodation goes well beyond a couple's ski suite: alongside 11 suites and six apartments, the collection includes a separate nine-bedroom private chalet designed for up to 20 guests.
The opening announcement, circulated on October 23, makes this the sixth Fouquet's hotel, following addresses in Paris, New York, Courchevel, Saint-Barth and Mykonos. For winter visitors, the useful distinction is that an existing hotel is changing brands. This is a new Fouquet's address rather than a newly built resort appearing in the village.
How much space can a group actually book?
The hotel describes its suites and apartments as combining 33 rooms. That wording matters: it should not be read as 33 identical, separately bookable bedrooms. A family comparing an apartment with several suites will need the actual bedroom configuration, occupancy and connecting arrangements for the category being offered.
The private chalet is a different proposition. The official hotel page describes four floors, nine bedrooms, a dedicated chef, a cinema, a games room, a nightclub and a private spa. It gives a large travelling party a way to stay together while keeping its evenings and entertaining separate from the hotel's shared spaces. Rates and minimum stays are not supplied in the opening announcement.
What is planned beyond the accommodation?
A Zuma pop-up brings Japanese dining to the property, with an open kitchen, a bar and a heated outdoor terrace. The announced menu spans sushi, sashimi, wagyu and robata cooking. Because this is described as a pop-up, anyone planning a trip around dinner should ask for its operating dates and reserve separately.
The hotel also announces a spa of more than 800 square metres, centred on a 15-metre indoor pool, with Augustinus Bader treatments. Those facilities give non-skiers a substantial reason to consider the address. Before paying for an opening-week stay, request written confirmation of which restaurants and wellness spaces will operate on your dates, along with the cancellation terms.
