ROMEO Massa Lubrense Sets a May Debut With a Dining Date Attached

ROMEO Massa Lubrense targets May 2027 near Capri, with 63 rooms and suites. Its Quattro Passi restaurant now lists a more precise opening date online.

ROMEO Massa Lubrense is targeting a May 2027 debut on the coast facing Capri, and its restaurant already has a more specific date attached. The collection's latest expansion announcement sets out a 63-room-and-suite hotel, while the official Quattro Passi page lists dinner service from May 1, 2027.

That gives food-led travellers something concrete to enquire about as they plan next spring. It does not establish that every hotel facility will open on May 1, or that a restaurant booking and room reservation are interchangeable. The main property website still labels the hotel as coming soon.

Where will guests actually be staying?

The hotel occupies the former Hotel Delfino site at Punta San Lorenzo in Massa Lubrense. Its setting is a private natural fjord overlooking the Mediterranean, with Capri across the water. The announcement describes a boat journey of around ten minutes to the island, a useful indication of proximity that should be checked against the actual transfer offered.

This is a mainland base for visiting Capri. Guests comparing the two should factor in their arrival route and ask how boat transfers operate, what they cost and what happens when weather changes the plan. Those details can matter more than the crossing time quoted in an announcement.

What is the connection with Quattro Passi?

The restaurant brings the Mellino family's culinary project into the hotel. Fabrizio Mellino leads the cooking, while his brother Raffaele oversees hospitality and food and beverage. The official restaurant page traces Quattro Passi's origins to Nerano in 1983 and describes its next chapter within ROMEO.

For a celebratory trip built around dinner, the practical question is whether a table can be confirmed alongside the room. The published May 1 date is a restaurant opening schedule, so request written confirmation for the evening you want before making other arrangements around it.

What else is planned for the hotel?

Kengo Kuma designed the project with ROMEO Design. Plans include a Sisley Paris spa, with architecture intended to connect the rooms and public spaces to the surrounding landscape. This will be the collection's third hotel, following its properties in Napoli and Rome.

Rates, room-category availability and the full opening programme still deserve a direct enquiry. Travellers considering an early stay should ask which wellness spaces and dining venues will be operating, and have any essential inclusions recorded in their reservation.
