Villa Argentina Reopens in Dubrovnik After a 10,000-Square-Meter Rebuild

Villa Argentina is open again beside Dubrovnik's Old Town with 109 keys beside Villa Orsula, a restored Dulcic mosaic, and Leading Hotels membership.

Villa Argentina has reopened beside Dubrovnik's historic Old Town after an extensive renovation covering more than 10,000 square meters, Adriatic Luxury Hotels confirmed on 17 September 2026. Together with sister property Villa Orsula, the renewed complex now counts 109 rooms and suites, and Villa Argentina has joined The Leading Hotels of the World. For travellers focused on Croatia's southern coast, the reopen returns one of Dubrovnik's best-known hillside addresses to the live inventory with Adriatic views, Mediterranean gardens, and a clearer luxury positioning.

Philippe Andre Burq, president of Adriatic Luxury Hotels' management board, framed the project as an investment in long-term quality rather than a cosmetic refresh: preserve the architecture and artistic heritage, then meet current luxury standards without erasing the Dubrovnik landscape connection.

What Changed Inside the Complex

Croatian studio 3LHD led architecture and interiors, with Dimore Studio contributing soft décor and decorative layers. Interiors lean on local stone and wood with restrained colour accents. Roughly 14,000 plants were integrated into the landscape plan, and stone uncovered during construction was reused across the site. The gardens and existing vegetation were treated as assets to keep, not obstacles to clear.

One of the clearest cultural signals sits in wellness: the restored 1967 mosaic Dubrovacke varijacije by Croatian painter Ivo Dulcic has been returned to its original setting. That kind of detail matters for guests who want a historic Adriatic house rather than a generic five-star shell with a sea view.

Why Leading Hotels Membership Matters Here

Joining The Leading Hotels of the World places Villa Argentina among more than 450 independent luxury hotels across 80-plus countries. For booking behaviour, that usually means better visibility with travellers who filter by collection, plus a service and character bar that independent hotels use to compete with global brands. Dubrovnik already draws heavy cruise and old-town traffic; an LHW badge helps the property speak to guests who want a quieter hillside base with collection-level expectations.

The 109-key count across Villa Argentina and Villa Orsula keeps the complex intimate by big-brand standards. That scale supports personalised hosting while still offering enough room types for multi-night stays during peak summer and shoulder-season cultural calendars.

How to Use the Reopen on a Croatia Trip

Book if you want Old Town walls and Adriatic sightlines without sleeping inside the densest lanes. The hillside setting is the point: walk or transfer into the historic core, then return to gardens and sea-facing rooms. Ask specifically about garden-facing versus sea-facing categories, and whether Villa Orsula inventory is packaged with Argentina stays during busy weeks.

Summer 2027 will be the first full high season after the rebuild, so early deposit holds make sense for July and August. Shoulder months give you the same architecture and mosaic with fewer day-trip crowds below. Either way, the reopen closes a gap on Dubrovnik's ultra-luxury shortlist and gives Croatia another independent house with a global collection behind it.
