Monasterio's dining is heritage-hotel deep rather than Lima-level experimental. Oqre, the newer gastronomic concept by Peruvian chef Jorge Muñoz, reworks regional recipes in the cloisters and is the kitchen to watch. El Tupay overlooks the courtyard for globally inspired Peruvian dinner and stages opera nights with Cusco tenor and soprano talent several times a week. Illariy handles breakfast in the cloisters with live guitar and continues into casual lunch. The Lobby Bar pours coca and pisco sours with jazz and blues nights. Guests can also walk to Mauka at sister Palacio Nazarenas. No Michelin stars are claimed for these rooms. Book El Tupay on opera nights if that ritual appeals; book Oqre when you want the more contemporary plate.
