Park Hyatt Riviera Maya Opens December 3 as the Brand's First All-Inclusive
Park Hyatt Riviera Maya opens December 3, 2026, as the brand's first all-inclusive, with 148 ocean-view rooms, butler service and seven a la carte venues.
Park Hyatt will open Park Hyatt Riviera Maya on December 3, 2026, as the brand's first all-inclusive resort, on a private Caribbean stretch between Cancún and Puerto Morelos inside the AMAI coastal enclave. The 148-key hotel sits about 20 minutes from Cancún International Airport after a mangrove approach, and Hyatt is using it to rewrite what all-inclusive means at the top of the house rather than bolt a drink package onto a conventional Park Hyatt.
What does "all-inclusive" actually cover here?
General manager Sam Kirby told Latte Luxury News at ILTM North America that the brief was to remove the pain points of a European plan and of existing all-inclusives. Every guest gets a Resort Ambassador butler. Every room faces the ocean with a private terrace; select categories add a private pool or plunge pool, and the largest accommodation is a roughly 215-square-metre penthouse. Airport transfers and laundry sit inside the rate. Dining is entirely a la carte across seven venues, so nobody signs a meal check or queues for a buffet. Locally inspired experiences are packaged with the stay rather than sold as add-ons at the desk.
Who is cooking, and how deep is the wine list?
Chef Jesus Sánchez leads a culinary programme centred on refined Mexican cooking and seafood with global side dishes. Sommelier-led wine and premium spirits run through the property; Kirby described a wine list of about 25 to 30 labels from Mexico, Italy, France, Spain, New Zealand and similar sources. Beachfront pools with private cabanas, an open-air spa garden and preferred access to El Tinto Golf Course fill the day between meals. Architecture and interiors lean on regional craft, millwork and art made with local artisans rather than a generic Caribbean template.
Why is Park Hyatt doing this now?
Tamara Lohan, Hyatt's global luxury brand leader, put the pitch bluntly at ILTM: if Park Hyatt is going to be all-inclusive, it has to do things differently. Kirby framed the product as a Park Hyatt first, with an inclusive lens on top, and said the model fits this market without becoming a template for urban icons such as Park Hyatt New York. If it works on the Riviera Maya, Hyatt sees room to copy the approach in other leisure destinations. The opening also lands in the same December window as a separate Grand Hyatt Cancún Beach Resort all-inclusive in Puerto Cancún, so the coast gets two Hyatt luxury all-inclusives aimed at different price points.
Who is this for?
Travellers who want Park Hyatt service without juggling resort credits or dinner reservations will find the so-what in the inclusions: ocean-view rooms as standard, butler contact, transfers and laundry already paid, and seven restaurants that still feel like restaurants. East Coast weekenders get a short hop to Cancún without the usual all-inclusive trade-offs. Bookings should treat December 3 as first-guest day inside AMAI, not a soft opening rumour, based on Hyatt's public date and the October ILTM briefings.
