Cheval Blanc Paris: 72 rooms on the Seine in the 1928 Samaritaine wing, with a Majordome and six Michelin stars

Cheval Blanc Paris is Peter Marino’s September 2021 hotel at 8 quai du Louvre, inside Henri Sauvage’s 1928 Art Deco Samaritaine wing, between Pont Neuf and the Louvre. There are 72 rooms and suites. A Deluxe is 45 square metres with a bath and hammam-shower; ask for the view by name — Haussmann buildings, the Louvre colonnade, a Seine side glimpse, a Louvre balcony, or Pont Neuf façades — because Deluxe is not one room. The Seine Junior Suite is 55 square metres with a winter garden on the river. Suites step up to separate living and dining, then the three-bedroom Ravel, the four-bedroom Quintessence, and The Apartment when those two join.

Treat the desk as the booking desk on the first afternoon. Plénitude and Hakuba fill early and sit Tuesday to Saturday only. If a starred table is why you came, put it on the same reservation as the room. Breakfast for two is à la carte at Le Tout-Paris on the seventh floor. Some guests reported room-service trays that miss the order, so take the included breakfast upstairs if that meal matters. Carte Blanche is the in-room menu, not a sixth restaurant. Dior Spa’s 30-metre pool, sauna, hammam, and gym run 6:30 to 22:00 for hotel guests. Treatments and Rossano Ferretti are extra.

The house lists five restaurants and six Michelin stars. None of the dinners sit in an ordinary room rate. Starred dining rooms typically close for several weeks in late summer — do not assume Plénitude or Hakuba in August. Langosteria keeps more nights and a shorter close. Le Jardin is a seventh-floor terrace from late May, Wednesday to Sunday, weather permitting. Le Tout-Paris is the everyday room, 7:00 to 1:00, with the bar after dinner. A taxi from Charles de Gaulle is usually 45 to 60 minutes; Orly is shorter. Pont Neuf and the Louvre are a walk.

What is in the stay: breakfast for two, a 24-hour Majordome, Le Carrousel kids’ club, and the pool wing. What is extra: dinners, Dior treatments, the private Seine boat, and room-service meals beyond breakfast. Views still depend on the assigned floor. Connecting rooms exist on some Deluxe and suite pages — ask if you are traveling as a family.

Book this if you want a winter garden on the Seine and a Majordome between the Louvre and Pont Neuf. Skip it if you want a sealed Haussmann palace off the river, a summer stay that still has every starred table open, or a rate that already covers dinner. Guests praise the winter garden, seventh-floor breakfast, and staff who remember a preference. Trip.com scores it 9.5 from 44 reviews; Booking.com scores it 9.5 from 27.

Guests Love

  • A winter garden on the Seine

Trip.com is 9.5 from 44. Guests keep the quay glass, a Majordome who remembers a preference, and seventh-floor breakfast more than any other detail.

  • A 2021 Marino house in the Samaritaine wing

Booking.com is 9.5 from 27. Repeat stays keep the 30-metre Dior pool, an early check-in, and a walk to the Louvre that is not a taxi.

Guests Warn

  • Room-service breakfast that misses the tray

Some guests reported trays that do not match the order, or a forgotten delivery. Ask for the seventh-floor table if breakfast is the point.

  • Starred rooms are not year-round

Plénitude, Hakuba, and Langosteria typically close for several weeks in late summer. Confirm the dining calendar before you lock the room.
